About

My name is Lauren Hairston Collado and I’m a history geek and a vintage freak. I’m also obsessed with good food. My passion is culinary exploration. I love finding a (new-to-me) old book, pamphlet, magazine, what-have-you and putting its recipes to the test in my kitchen. Granted, there are definitely things that should stay in the past (witch trials, girdles and not having air conditioning come to mind) but there are a lot of fun things that don’t deserve to be lost to the sands of time. This blog is about those fun things—mostly food but also movies, music, books and fashion.

I graduated Phi Beta Kappa with degrees in History (early-modern England) and French Literature. I currently live in Kansas with my husband, Paul. Naturally, I spend a good deal of my time in antique stores and grocery stores.
